Fees

Joining Gikswork is free. This page lists every fee, and who pays it.

1. On each job

Workers pay a 10% Gikswork fee on their pay, taken when the payment is released. On a ₦7,000 job you get ₦6,300.

Employers pay no Gikswork fee on hiring. Money for goods or materials is never charged a Gikswork fee.

2. Adding money

You add money by bank transfer, from ₦5,000. EscrowPay's fee for holding it in escrow applies: 1.5% plus ₦150, at most ₦3,000 for amounts up to ₦250,000. Above ₦250,000 it is 1.25% plus ₦150. It is not a Gikswork fee, you pay it on top, and it is shown before you pay.

3. Withdrawing

Each withdrawal costs ₦100. You can withdraw once your wallet reaches ₦10,000. The ₦100 comes from your wallet on top, so sending ₦10,000 needs ₦10,100. It goes only to a bank account in your own name.

4. Sending materials money

Each time an employer sends materials money to a worker, the employer pays ₦100 on top, so the worker gets the full amount.

5. Plans

Gikswork is free to start. Workers move to a ₦2,000 monthly plan after earning ₦150,000, and employers after hiring ₦100,000 of work. We tell you before a plan starts, and you can cancel at any time.

6. Boosts

Showing a job or profile higher for 7 days costs ₦1,000.

7. CVs and reports

Workers can download a stamped CV of their finished jobs. The first 3 are free, then each new one costs ₦200. Employers can download a report of the work they paid for, free.

8. ID check

The ID check is free for you. Gikswork pays for it.

9. Cancelling a job

Cancelling before an offer is accepted costs nothing. All the money set aside goes back to your wallet.

If an employer cancels after the offer is accepted, the worker gets 10% of the pay for keeping the time free, less the 10% Gikswork fee on that amount. The rest goes back to the employer. If the worker shows within 24 hours that they spent more and our team accepts it, they may get 30% to 70% of the pay, plus receipted materials at cost with 20% on top.

If the worker cancels or does not come, the employer gets all the money back and the worker pays nothing.
