Do I have to send the materials money with my offer?

No. On a one-off job you can pick Add materials money later. Only the pay is then held when they accept, and the money you set aside for materials goes back to your wallet. When the worker sends their list, you check it and add the money from the job page. Or pick the option to hold the materials money too, up to what you set aside when you posted.

Materials money carries no fee. Materials money you have not sent yet comes back to you. Money you send to the worker is theirs to buy with, and it does not come back. Shopping, bulk and ongoing jobs hold their goods money as posted. A staged job holds materials stage by stage, only what you approve.
