Why do I check my NIN or BVN before adding or withdrawing money?

The bank that holds the money must know who it belongs to. So before you add money or withdraw, you check your NIN or BVN once, with your date of birth. It takes a few seconds. We pass the number to the bank's checking service and do not keep it.

To withdraw, you also need a bank account in your own name. The name on the account must match your ID.

If the check says the details did not match, check the number and the date of birth and try again. If it says the number is already checked on another Gikswork account, talk to us from Help: each person can have one Gikswork wallet.

STEP BY STEP

   Step 1: Open Wallet and tap Add money or Withdraw. If you have not checked your ID yet, you are taken to the check first.

   Step 2: Pick NIN or BVN, type the number and your date of birth, then tap Check and continue.

   Step 3: To withdraw, add a bank account in your own name, then make it your main account.
